Thus we speak of Leffe Brown, Brugse Zot double and Dark Castle, although these three beers are very similar.

In general we can say that this category is especially popular during the fall and winter. This is firmly confirmed by the bokbieren, quadrupels and Christmas beers consumed avidly during those months. Again, this category is characterized by its color and therefore it is not easy to find similarities here. As an ordinary dark beer may have an alcohol content of 6% or even 12%.
