What an amazing beer in an amazing bottle! The Hoogstraten Poorter is a dark, strong beer of high fermentation and has a lovely sweet sense. You smell a subtle aroma of roasted malt too. It has not that typical porter taste, which makes it a very interesting beer. With its bittersweet, full-bodied taste and velvety finish, the Hoogstraten Poorter is a unique beer. You can taste some prunes, raisins, other dark fruits and sweet malt. I can say I'm fan of all the brews of the Sterkens Brewery.
